Welcome to Pepper, Salt and Pineapple, English learners! This blog has been created to provide an opportunity to explore English language by showing and commenting different stuff from our humid tropical forests and culture! We open a door to document and inform about the immense world contained in the Atlantic area of Costa Rica.

Activity for this Week

Walk and observe!

Take a walk through your neighborhood. Pay special attention to every tree in your community.

Your objective is to find a fruit tree and by talking to family and friends discover its secrets and special characteristics!

Under the entry "Vivid colors, seeds and fun!" write what you have found. You can include the tree and the fruit physical description, common and botanic names and different uses people in your community give to it!

Vocabulary!

Look at the underlined words in the description of each fruit. Prepare your own dictionary! Select a notebook just for this purpose.

Then:

* write the words,

* write your own definition of what you think they mean,

* illustrate them and

* provide examples!
